UC Merced TAG

This post includes specifics to the UC Merced TAG that is in addition to the general rules. It is not definitive in terms of specific majors, so be sure to click the link that goes directly to the UC page at the bottom of this post.

GPA minimums for TAG:

School of Engineering: minimum GPA of 3.0
School of Natural Science: minimum GPA of 2.9
School of Social Science, Humanities and Art: minimum GPA of 2.8
— exception is Psychology, which has a minimum required GPA of 3.0

Grading Policy for TAG

  • Academic criteria for the major must be a grade of C or better.
  • No unrepeated grade(s) of “No Pass”,”D” or “F” in UC-transferable coursework.
  • No more than two total withdraws in major preparation courses.
  • Applicants can have no more than one major preparation course where grades of No Pass, D or F were received even if repeated with passing grades.
