Haas Offers MBA Deferred Enrollment to Cal Undergrads

UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business just launched a new program called Accelerated Access that allows current Cal undergrads to apply to its Haas MBA program and defer enrollment for two-to-five years, thus gaining valuable career experience in the interim.

Interested students must apply in their final year of study toward a bachelor’s degree. There are currently two application deadlines: April 2, 2020 and June 11, 2020. The application requirements include a resume, two letters of recommendation, two short essays, undergraduate transcripts, and either the GMAT or GRE standardized test. An interview will be required for admission.

Haas will waive the $200 application fee for applicants this first year and will be creating up to five $100,000 scholarships to celebrate the launch and the 10th anniversary of the Four Defining Principles: Question the Status QuoConfidence Without AttitudeStudents Always and Beyond Yourself.

The last few years have seen a drastic reduction of people applying to MBA programs across all universities so this is a novel way to possibly offset that development. In addition, having real life experience can only add to the MBA experience and outcome.
