UC Scout Provides Online High School A-G Courses

What is UC Scout?

UC Scout (started by the Boy Scouts) is part of the University of California system and provides high school courses that fulfill graduation requirements. These specifically targeted A-G courses, including some CollegeBoard Advanced Placement courses, are accepted at all the UCs and CSUs, as well as the National Collegiate Athletic Association Core Courses (confirm with NCAA before enrolling., as not all are accepted).

Why the need for UC Scout?

Statistically, fewer than half  of high school graduates in California complete the 15 courses required for admission to a UC. These A-G  courses have an even lower completion rate for underrepresented, lower-income, and rural students.

UC Scout is the missing link and allows all students to complete the courses they need to successfully make the leap to a public California college campus.

There are three plans available, below.

The Basic Plan – $29 per student/per semester

Free for California public schools. Once verified as a student, student receive a code to use during the enrollment checkout process.

What you get as an enrolled student::

• One-year access to Basic course material and limited content
• Supplemental learning — Course materials help you study alongside in-person classes
• Dynamic video lessons and integrated educational technologies
• Broad selection — 65+ courses to choose from, including AP® and electives.
• Live customer support 
• Use the lessons for self-study, exam prep, or exploring a subject area of interest. These do not give A-G credit on its own.

The Plus Plan – $49 per student/per semester

Plus is solely for institution teachers and homeschool teachers as an adjunct. Fully bundled course curricula that may be use as needed.

The On Demand Plan – paid by school

Accredited, flexible online high school courses that are offered directly to enrolled students.

What you get as an enrolled student::

• Flexible pacing — work at your own pace and enroll anytime before final enrollment date
• Dynamic video lessons and integrated educational technologies
• Broad selection — 65+ courses to choose from, including AP® and electives
• California credentialed teacher is alongside as you work through the material
• Live customer support and accommodation plans may be submitted
• Accessible from any device and an adult observer may be added
• Transcript provided once course is completed, plus options for taking the AP exam (as applicable)
