Winter, Spring Openings at UCSC and UC Merced

After the dust settled for regular fall 2016 applicants, two UCs have determined they have a bit of extra space for applicants who may wish to start in January 2017.

UC Santa Cruz (quarter system) has openings in select majors for Winter term 2017, and UC Merced (semester system) has openings for select majors for Spring 2017.

Additionally, special programs — such as EOP, Academic Re-Entry, Veterans, Disabled — may have open availability for winter/spring at some campuses, so be sure and check if you’re participating in one of those programs.

This is a terrific opportunity for any of you that were denied fall 2016 admittance due to something that has been corrected, or for those who will be finished with lower division studies in the fall. (I assume the UCs are counting fall grades, but the page does not elaborate.)

Check the UCs for Open/Closed Majors.
