UC admission updates and resources

Admission decision season is here! Campuses have notified first-year/freshman applicants of their admission status. Some campuses have begun notifying transfer applicants of their admission status, while others plan to contact students later this month. For more information on the enrollment process for students, including campus-specific information, reference the following resources. Accepting a UC offer of admission

As a reminder, all nine undergraduate campuses have extended their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) deadline for first-year (freshman) undergraduate students to May 15. The transfer SIR deadline of June 1 remains the same.

Students can accept an admission offer by agreeing to the provisions/conditions outlined in the offer and submitting their SIR with a deposit of $250 to reserve their space at a campus. Some important things to keep in mind about accepting a UC admission offer:

  1. Students can accept only one admission offer from one UC campus.
  2. The SIR deposit is applied to the student’s first enrollment term tuition.
  3. Students that qualified for the UC application fee waiver may also qualify to defer their SIR deposit until financial aid is disbursed.
  4. The SIR deposit is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
  5. Further documentation regarding residency status for tuition determination purposes may be required. Learn more about residency for tuition purposes.

First-year waitlist reminder

First-year applicants who received waitlist offers must opt in by April 15. They are not automatically placed on a campus’ waitlist otherwise.

While students can opt in to multiple UC campus waitlists, they can only accept one offer of admission. Even if students opt in to a waitlist at a UC campus, they should submit a SIR to a college or university where they have been offered admission to ensure they have a place to attend in the fall.

Campus events for admitted students

Admitted students will have a range of options to engage with campuses this spring. Campuses are planning multiple events in April and May. Events may include, but are not limited to, presentations on financial aid and scholarships, choosing a major, student organizations, support resources and housing.

Unless otherwise linked, further event information and registration details can be found in the host campus’ applicant portal.

Events denoted with an asterisk (*) are also open to prospective students.

  • Transfer: Golden Bear Welcome, May 4

UC Davis

  • Transfer: Bruin Day, May 11

UC Merced
