UC Application: Using the Additional Comments

Additional Comments

There are two additional comments sections in the UC application. They are optional and should only be used if you have vital information that explains something that is not clear about info you have already inputted. The additional comments are not to be used to write essays. Under most circumstances, they are left blank.

Box 1:

The first additional comments box follows the “Academic History” section and should be used to explain:

  • courses or grade patterns
  • a circumstance that prevented the student from taking more rigorous courses
  • a prolonged illness that affect grades

Box 2:

The second comment area immediately follows the “personal insight questions” section. Applicants may use this area to explain:

  • a learning or physical difference
  • other issues related to their academic ability
