This post includes specifics to the UC Santa Cruz TAG that is in addition to the general rules. It is not definitive in terms of specific majors, so be sure to click the link that goes directly to the UC page at the bottom of this post.
UCSC TAG criteria

Complete a minimum of 30 UC-transferable semester (45 quarter) units of coursework with a minimum UC-transferable GPA of 3.0

Complete at minimum the seven-course pattern required for admission as a junior transfer by end of spring.

Non-native speakers of English must demonstrate proficiency in English by:
- Earning a score of 80 or higher on the TOEFL iBT (550 on the paper version); or
- Completing two UC-transferable courses in English Composition with a grade of B or higher.
This proficiency requirement applies to students who completed any of their high school education (9th through 12th grades) or beyond in a country where English is not the native language.
- TAG approval also includes major preparation. Choice of major is not guaranteed through TAG unless the major is listed on their TAG site. Additional requirements may be required.
