UC Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) Opens Sept 1

UC TAGFor those of you wishing to TAG to a UC campus before your application this November, the TAG online application window opens tomorrow and runs from Sept 1-30.

If you don’t know what TAG is, it stands for Transfer Admission Guarantee, and it means just that: You are guaranteed admission to one of the 6 participating UCs if you fulfill that campus’ TAG requirements.

For those applying this September, I urge you to:

  1. Recheck the details of the TAG for your chosen campus. Each campus has different rules (see links to my blog post below for detailed info).
  2. Be sure both English and math requirements are completed by the dates determined by your TAG or it will be voided.
    • Davis: Both English courses and math requirements completed by fall 2016
    • Irvine: First English by summer 2016, second English by spring 2017, Math by summer 2016
    • Merced: First English by fall 2016, second English by spring 2017, Math by fall 2016
    • Riverside: First English by fall 2016, second English by spring 2017, Math by fall 2016
    • Santa Barbara: Both English courses and math requirements completed by fall 2016

  3. Check to make sure the major you want is not excluded from TAG (see matrix, below).
  4. When you fill out the regular application in November be sure to list the same major for your TAG campus as noted on your TAG application or your TAG will be voided.
